If you are a parent of a child who has been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, we understand that you have been through a lot and have had too many promises broken by other health care providers. Sensory Processing challenges are when the brain does not properly perceive, coordinate, and process (integrate) the information and stimuli coming from the environment. Therefore, the way the brain reacts to those things is not appropriate either. And those reactions often look like things such as hyperactivity, impulsiveness, anxiety, and it causes them to stay in the state of “fight or flight” and in doing so they are unable to be in a restful state. This causes them to always be in high alert, which is often seen as hyperactivity and/or focus issues. By removing these subluxations it allows the body to be in a restful state, therefore removing them from the “fight or flight” state. In order for the body to function, there must be balance between the two.
In cases of ADHD, the imbalance and disorganization of the brain is coming from improperly filtered and organized sensory information (too much, too little). What we can tell you is that hyperactivity is not the result of a Ritalin shortage. Instead it is a disturbance of the nervous system. We almost always see problems caused by the spinal distortions in the upper neck.
